I have been dining at El Sombrero in Claycomo, Missouri since day one. Even though I moved to Excelsior Springs, I will not eat Mexican food unless it is from El Sombrero. The family are the nicest and most down-to-earth people I've ever met. I always tell our customers at the Chinese Restaurant I work at to go to El Sombrero for the best Mexican food around. El Sombrero rocks!!!!

I was watching the Feb 19th episode on what to do with the west bottoms stockyard area and was disappointed that no one there had thought of preserving or adding a meuseum to as when the era of the stockyards began and ended and why. I had moved here from Denver and grew up in the Denver stockyard area and knew it well . When we moved here in 1969 I noticed the YARDS AS WE WENT DOWN TOWN AND THOUGHT HOW COOL...I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE YARDS CAME THIS FAR...I WAS 14 then. I went down to the yards and they were empty except for all the stalls and never heard anymore as to what happened?

We love Carlo's Copa Room!! The food is AMAZING! I recommend the Fried Meatballs, the Cheesecake and the Cannolis. Everything there is awesome. The service is great. Can't wait to go back.

Commenting on "More Than A Month." Extremely insightful look at Black History Month and the story of us. This should be on every history teacher's to see list. I'm retired now, but have been an advocate for the inclusiveness of story of the "three" major culture divisions that combine to make the dynamic theatrics of US History. I did not see any mention of Edward Countryman's theory that each culture, European, African, and native American is a vital part of our multi-persona.
Please put this on at an earlier hour so students and especially sleepy teachers would have the chance to ponder this vital question were one fits in this country.

Real Jalisco is so good! They always have great service and the lunch specials are a super deal. The tamales and Jalisco tacos are my favorite!

I was memorized and moved-the Interrupters will have my prayers and I would be interested in knowing how, when able, I/my family could have opportunity to donate to Aim4peace, financially, and any other way able. The violence is a cycle of frustration and despair but does obviously keep these neighborhoods from bringing in new business, residents, stronger schools which could supply more jobs, stability, education, hope and help with the violence...

I have to listen to some man for over 2 and half minutes about the contraception issue, but Mary O'Halloran is not allowed to comment and then Mike Shanin acts like a first class sexist when Mary stands up to him. Come on KCPT we should expect better on public television, this isn't an AM radio talk show. The only reason most women tune into the show is to hear from Mary O'Halloran. Mike Shanin should apologize on the air to all women for his condescending behavior!

Mike Shanin should be scolded on his own show for trying to "dress down" Mary O'Haloran DURING THE SHOW. I am SICK of him and his pompous, chauvenistic attitude toward Mary and have come close to not watching the show because of him alone, but I do like the issues discussed and the panelists so I continue to watch. AFter Mr. Shanin's tantrum this week, I may not be watching in the future. FIRE HIM. He is not professional enough to do this job.

I have thought long and hard about making a public comment on the Feb 9 edition of Ruckus. Mike Shanin's treatment of Mary O'Halloran as a panelist have reached a new low. Mike's offensive rant against Mary was ugly even for Mike. It was obvious the sexist putdown was meant to get her to respond in an emotional manner so her contributions as a panelist could be marginalized. Happily, Mary did not take the bait. Mik's actions reflect poorly on KCPT and Ruckus.

Wally: What it is, is a violation of the First Amendment rights of Christians to force them to pay for abortifacients, which is what "morning after" pills are. Moreover, they are not as safe as those pushing for easy access to them would have you believe. Women have died from taking those pills. Funny how you don't hear much about that in the MSM, isn't it, but then, they don't tell the public what they don't want the public to know. Most people have little problem with contraceptives, but what is the problem with paying for them themselves??? Why do taxpayers have to pick up the tab? And, while most people don't have problems with them, the Catholic Church, in particular, does. Why should Catholic employers be forced to go against their consciences to pay for something that goes against their religion? The purpose of "the separation of church and state" (which Thomas Jefferson wrote about in his letter to the Baptists - it's nowhere to be found in the U.S. Constitution, and Thomas Jefferson had no hand in drafting the Constitution) was to protect the Church from the State, not the other way around. The Church was intended to be the conscience of the State. When the Constitution was drafted, most of the signatories were members of both. Secular Humanists have inserted it into jurisprudence as a means of trying to wipe God out, as if they could.

Ruckus describes itself as: "lively roundtable about the big ticket issues that face our community today." Therefore, as a regular viewer, I expected to hear lively discussion on the current issue of Catholic Bishops' opposition to contraception coverage, given that there are clear conservative and liberal viewpoints. However, I was very disappointed in the handling of this topic. In particular, I found that Mike Shannon's behavior of disrespect and his dismissive treatment of Ms. O'Halloran was unexpected and wrong, given that this is a show of multiple views. I had the sense that he didn't want to hear her views. Now, why is this so? Many of us tune in to hear diverse and challenging discussion, and in fact, expect to "enjoy the ruckus." Not only was the topic very edgy and important, but also revealing of social values. What else is this show to be about? Mr. Shannon, you are not doing a good job in handling such issues, and I must ask you to apologize to Ms. O'Halloran and to the viewers.

Mike,
You were wrong to jump on Mary. You did not call on Mary during the birth control/Catholic Church issue. She needed to be allowed to comment on Obama health care and the Catholic Church. Women are not forced to take birth conrtol pills. It is not a vilation of religious freedom. You cut the whole discussion short - probably about 30 seconds. You were not fair. Shame. Be fair and do not show your far right position.
